About Okinawa International Carnival
The Okinawa International Carnival is an event unique to the cosmopolitan city of Okinawa, where people from more than 45 countries live.
The event began in 1993, and this year marks the 28th time it has been held. The main venue is Koza Gate Street, and since 2008, the "Gate #2 Festa" has also been held at the same time, making the two-day event even more substantial.
This year, the event will be held outdoors for the first time in three years on November 19 at the main venue, Music Town's first floor music plaza. Last year, due to the influence of COVID-19, the venue was changed to Music Town Sound Market, and the event became a hybrid of an audience-oriented event and a webcast.
Okinawa International Carnival 2022 will feature a carnival parade of unique citizen groups and teams of foreigners living in the city walking down Gate Street, Carnival parade with a Samba, American military bands, REVERASE, and the Okinawa City Miss Hibiscus contest, There will also be a variety of other events such as ethnic performances and dance shows from around the world.
