About Okinawa International Carnival

The Okinawa International Carnival is an event unique to the cosmopolitan city of Okinawa, where people from more than 45 countries live.
The event began in 1993, and this year marks the 29th time it has been held.

Until last year, due to the Covid-19, the event was held in a hybrid format with both a live audience and webcast, but this time it will be held for 2 days, mainly on Koza Gate Street, as before.

The first day, Saturday, November 25, will be held at Music Town's 1st floor Music Plaza and part of Koza Gate Street. The second day, Sunday, November 26, will be held at Koza Gate Street (the entire street) as the main venue, as well as Music Town's 1st floor Music Plaza, Ichibangai Shopping Street, Central Park Avenue and Yaejima Park.

The purpose of this tourism event is to promote harmony among citizens and revitalize industry, as well as to contribute to the development of Okinawa City as an "International Culture Section Tourism City" through citizen cooperation through music, entertainment, sports, and other exchanges. A variety of events will be held, including a parade of citizens' groups living in the city and overseas teams, each with their own characteristics, parading down Gate Street, a samba carnival dressed in colorful decorations, and a motorcycle parade.
